A Happy Birthday toast to H.P. Lovecraft (August 20, 1890 – March 15 1937), who is revered as a 20th century master of horror, fantasy, weird tales, and science fiction. According to Wikipedia, Stephen King called Lovecraft “the twentieth century’s greatest practitioner of the classic horror tale” and Joyce Carol Oates declared that Lovecraft exerted “an incalculable influence on succeeding generations of writers of horror fiction.”
